How to Create the Life You Want

Form comes to us as the means to experience the essence of what is in our mind.  Form is the means, essence is the end.  Essence is the cause, form is the effect.  “Seeing adapts to wish, for sight is always secondary to desire” (A Course in Miracles). The Energy of Life:  A Guide to Practical Spirituality encapsulates the above truism in a way that you can easily incorporate into your life and, in so doing, create the life you want. http://www.amazon.com/Energy-Life-Guide-Practical-Spirituality/dp/0991462920/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1435605591&sr=8-6&keywords=jimmie+lewis www.jimmielewis.com

The Voice

I am exploding with bliss and creativity.  My heart is wide open.  My mind is still.  I know but I do not think.  I see but my eyes are closed. I keep the movie, “Boyhood”, on the last three minutes just waiting for the right time when our Course in Miracles group is studying the idea of presence and the instant that the Course calls holy, the holy instant in which our minds are connected to all minds and to the one Mind of God.  I accept the holy instant as the milieu of my life, of Life itself.  It is the only safe place. I just re-watched that last three minutes of “Boyhood” …..

Jailer or Liberator?

An idea “remains joined to its source, which is its jailer or its liberator, according to which it chooses as its purpose for itself.”* What purpose do your ideas hold for you:  imprisonment or liberation? Here’s an example: Your one, or one of many that are similar, stimulus or stimuli that you experience frequently as some version of fear. Side-note:  You will never see or hear me say that you hurt me or I hurt you or you made me do x or I made you do x.  That is because I learned a long time ago that no one is master of my mind but me.  I either use it …..

A long time ago I didn’t know what to do That’s when I came to you My wings were broken and I could not fly That’s when I came to you   You took me in, you needed someone to love That’s why I came to you Your heart was broken and it needed to heal That’s why I came to you   I knew at once we were one and the same That’s when I came to you I saw you had the power that I thought I had lost That’s when I came to you   You knew you could trust me, you saw it in my eyes …..

Pioneer of the Soul

I told the girl at the Farmer’s Market that I’d like some sunflowers and thought she’d hand me some.  Instead, she said, “Why don’t you pick out the ones you like.  We have different kinds.”  I whirled around 180 degrees and suddenly saw all kinds of sunflowers, dark and light and variations in-between.  And I realized that, once again, unwittingly, I was just accepting what the world was giving to me instead of creating what I really wanted. In a flash I knew this was another ever-so-subtle way that I was hiding from my own power, the power I had long ago projected onto the outside world and received it …..

The Space Between Thought

When I first heard Gabrielle Roth (February 4, 1941 – October 22, 2012)* mention the term, “space between thought”, on her “The Wave” DVD, I knew immediately there was truth in those words.  The idea resonated deeply with me.  I had an epiphany, an awareness, a knowing, what I like to call a “soft intervention” into my consciousness, like I have had so many times in my life ever since I first began to awaken to truth in September of 1980. I consider that moment as one of the best soft interventions into my consciousness because a spontaneous knowing is always accompanied by a corresponding value for that knowing.  And …..

The Power of Love

When my now-deceased partner, Barbara, and I first got together she had one house plant that she pointed to and said, “I don’t have a green thumb.”  It was a ficus plant that was about a foot and a half tall.  She said she bought it when she first moved out of a L.S.U. dorm room into an apartment with a bunch of girls.  Then she said, “It has never grown.  It’s always been that size,” as she was holding her hand up to illustrate the approximate foot and a half tall that the plant was.  I asked, “How long ago was that?”  She counted backwards from the present time and …..
